Writer Application- All writers are required to be at least 18 years of age, there are no exceptions to this rule.
- Sign-up for an account on the forums
- Visit the Proving Grounds area
- Make 7 posts (each post needs to be at least 25 words as this is the standard word count for all posts).
- Post in the "Hit your 7th?" thread
Making 7 posts here does not guarantee that you will be moved to Starter status. It means that your posts will be reviewed to see if you will be a good fit for this company or not. Either way you will receive a PM that states which way you will be heading with this company. While we appreciate writers who come in and want to post more than 7, it is not needed and it actually makes your vetting process take longer by doing this. Any new applicant posting more than 8 posts in the PG area will be
disqualified. We need 7 test posts and your post in the 7th thread only (eight total posts only) from this point forward.
The things we look out for:Follow Directions (including the ones listed in this how to thread)
Grammar & Spelling (this includes punctuation, proper sentence structure and proper paragraph style posts)
On Topic/Thoughtful/Fulfilling Posts (if it does not make sense it will count against you)
These are just a few of the things we are looking for, and while we do understand that some writers come to us with English as their second language and we have no issues with that seeing as we have writers from all over the world, proper English is a *must* for this job. If you have any posts which we feel need to be re-read to understand the post, you will end up being given an English test before we can make a final call on your status within our company.
Review Process: All reviews should take no longer than 24hrs to complete however in the case this does happen you will be contacted via PM regarding the reason for the delay. Please understand that if we need to contact you regarding posts you have made, we would like the same timely consideration back as we give when we review your original posts here. Within 3 days should be fine but if we do not hear back we will move your review thread into the MIA area and your review will be put on hold. Please note that the time it takes us to hear back from you also delays your review time, so please be speedy about it.
Please be patient after submitting your posts, most times we review over a dozen applicants at once. Monday-Friday (EST business hours) we are typically online and are able to review all new writers (
within 24hrs of business-or 3 business days). Weekends and national holidays however may take longer for us to get back with you.
